Tally ("Tally", "we", "us") turns the conversations you have at events into clean, structured notes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Tally is operated by DHS Labs. Questions? Email us at dhslabadm@gmail.com.
Who we are
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller is DHS Labs, the team behind Tally. You can reach us at any time at dhslabadm@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this only to create and secure your Tally account.
- Content you capture. The notes you create, including voice notes, photos of business cards or event badges, QR codes, and any text you send. These may contain personal data about the people you meet (names, roles, companies, contact details). You control what you capture.
- Telegram data. If you connect Telegram, we store your Telegram user identifier so we can link your chat to your account and deliver your notes.
- Usage and technical data. Basic logs needed to run the service securely, such as timestamps and error logs.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To turn your captures into structured notes and deliver them to you.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
- To respond to your requests and support questions.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google user data
Tally's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only access the basic profile data (name, email, and profile picture) needed to sign you in. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the service or as required by law.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
- Performance of a contract, to provide the service you sign up for.
- Consent, where you choose to capture content or connect Telegram. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests, to keep the service secure and working.
Where your data is stored
Your data is hosted on infrastructure located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany), handled to European data-protection standards.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Tally:
- Supabase: database, authentication, and storage (hosted in the EU).
- Google: sign-in.
- Telegram: message delivery, if you connect it.
These providers process data only on our behalf and under agreements that require them to protect it.
Data retention
We keep your notes for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual notes or your whole account at any time; when you delete something, we remove it from our active systems.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email dhslabadm@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and per-user isolation. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.
Children
Tally is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.
